The glacier gives its name to the two fairways of the Zell am See-Kaprun Golf Club: "Kitzsteinhorn" and "Schmittenhöhe" are the names of the park-like courses with their varied greens and natural biotopes that make golf players' hearts beat faster. Despite its alpine location, the golf club is open from April to November.

Lovers of golf not only appreciate the well-kept fairways but also the breathtaking panorama - a sporting experience for all senses! After the game, the clubhouse and golf restaurant invite you to have a snack or drink in a convivial atmosphere. The agony of choice: Golf courses in the Salzburger Land

In addition to the Zell am See-Kaprun Golf Club, there are other golf courses around the Salzburg mountains and lakes. How about a small golf road trip past magnificent lakes and through idyllic landscapes? The Mountain Hotel Luis is an ideal starting point for this.

The Urslautal Golf Club in Saalfelden and Maria Alm is one of the most beautiful championship courses in the Alps, with flower meadows and floodplains. The golf club Gut Brandlhof is also located in Saalfelden. Here golf players will find flat fairways and the Saalach River, which has to be crossed several times. A small stream, which accompanies the whole game, is also the trademark of the golf club Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, Mittersill. A par 3 island green marks the end to this beautiful golf course.

If you would like to visit the Mozart city of Salzburg, a stop in Fuschl is a good idea. The Salzburg-Fuschl Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Austria. The tactical game on the 9-hole course is rewarded with views of the castle and Lake Fuschl. Located in the middle of a park of the baroque Klessheim castle, also the golf club Salzburg-Klessheim has its charms.

Nestling in the landscape between the so-called dragon's wall and the lake, experts also enjoy facing the challenges that the golf club at Mondsee offers. The Goldegg Golf Club, on the other hand, offers a scenically unique romantic course and one of the most beautiful clubhouses.

The Kitzbühel golf course has great panache. The golf club convinces with its harmonious green areas and is a well-known venue for outstanding sporting success. At the Eichenheim golf course, golf players can enjoy the 18-hole championship course. This course, also located in the Kitzbühel Alps, was designed by the renowned designer Kyle Phillips. Surrounded by mountain ridges, forests and meadows, the Kitzbühel-Schwarzsee-Reith Golf Club is also attracting an ever-growing fan base.
 

Golf tournaments in the Salzburg region

Both professional and amateur golf players can demonstrate their sure instinct at numerous golf trophies in the Salzburger Land. The tournament calendar of the golf events in Zell am See-Kaprun is packed from May to October, with events such as the Gösser Trophy and the 9-L Late Night tournaments. The golf club in Sankt Michael im Lungau is also a popular venue for tournaments. Here, golf players improve their handicap during the HCP rally in spring and autumn. The golf trophy in Gastein starts at 2,050 metres above sea level at the Kleine Scharte Schlossalm mountain station. From here, six golf holes lead to the Haitzingalm, where the award ceremony also takes place.
